The Intrepid Dan Kidd was born in a tightly knit working class community in England. The year was the early 70's, and things were generally considered to be okay. A decade later Dan turned 10, and things had become decidedly worse.
The son of a miner, he experienced firsthand the struggles of working people during Margaret Thatcher's reign of terror. "I saw my parents go without", Dan recalls "so that I could eat. I think even as a child they recognized my incredible talent, and saw that it required nourishment."
After graduating high school, Dan attended one of the world's most prestigious online universities, where he excelled. Of course, he also worked 6 full time jobs whilst attending. Janitor, chimney sweep, boot-black, and adult bookstore clerk are only some of the jobs in which he laboured. He vividly remembers those days; "I'd close my book after class, and just pick up a broom and start cleaning."
All this is behind him now and his family gushes with pride as they talk about their son and his meteoric rise.
